About Our Association

Mission

  Our Commitment to Equity
The Greater Northeast Keizer Neighborhood Association (GNEKNA) is committed to reducing equity gaps and increasing access for all to create a safe community for everyone. Safety and belonging for all Keizer residents is vital. We are dedicated to inclusive policies that protect age, race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and all other individual identities. GNEKNA commits to building equity into our fabric, allowing us to serve every member of our community.

Who We Are

We are a collective of homeowners, renters, churches, businesses, schools, and representatives working together to improve our neighborhood. We are neighbors who want to create tangible change to make Keizer safer for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren.

"We provide a voice to those who need additional support in communicating the needs of the community. We walk beside you!"

Our Purpose

The primary mission of GNEKNA is to promote, coordinate, and advise on all aspects of planning for the City of Keizer and other advisory bodies. We believe that neighborhoods are the heart of a city, and the quality of our neighborhood is just as important as the homes we live in.

Why It Matters

A strong neighborhood is defined by its appearance, safety, and sense of community. These characteristics provide both emotional and economic benefits, affecting property values and the overall desirability of our area. To preserve and enhance these traits, we must first truly know our environment.

Get Involved

Building a stronger community starts with the people willing to lead and work together. We invite you to join us in making a difference:

  • Explore: Begin by walking your neighborhood to see its potential.
  • Connect: Join our group to meet your neighbors and share your vision.
  • Lead: Help us plan and provide the structure needed to create lasting change.

Building a Stronger Community Together.

Neighborhood Crime Prevention: A Joint Responsibility

The Power of Partnership

Neighborhood Watch is a crime-prevention program built on a simple premise: partnership. By working alongside law enforcement, we can reduce crime, solve local problems, and significantly improve the quality of life in our community.

While law enforcement is vital, their impact on neighborhood crime is minimal compared to the power of private citizens working together. We believe that safety is a responsibility shared equally by law enforcement and the people who live here.

Building a Safer, Friendlier Keizer

The City of Keizer is diverse and eclectic, rich with history and culture. Our goal is to bring neighbors together—street by street and block by block—to protect that culture. Neighborhood Watch is more than just surveillance; it is about building community.

  • Awareness: When neighbors know neighbors, we stay alert.
  • Organization: An organized community is a resilient community.
  • Action: When we take steps to secure our property and report suspicious activity, burglary and related offenses decrease dramatically.

Our Vision: A Network of Caring Residents

We have developed a comprehensive guide to help revive Neighborhood Watch programs in Keizer and our surrounding areas. This resource provides the tools needed to collaborate effectively with local law enforcement and community leaders.

Neighborhood Watch works. Nationwide statistics prove that when citizens cooperate and look out for one another, we break the cycle of crime. Join us in making our neighborhoods a safer, more connected place to live.
